My first post was on Dec. 17, 2006. Haven't done much since then, as far as blog posts go. But, back in 2006, I was making killer money & working my butt off as co-owner of a small construction company. George Bush was President. Republicans had just been kicked in the gonads in the mid-term elections. I thought I had things nailed down pretty good, figuratively speaking.
Most folks hadn't heard of Barack Hussein Obama yet.
My, how times have changed.
I thought I was a pretty well informed American, and I was, on many fronts. But I'd never been confronted with the evil of socialism in such a direct, life-changing way, until the election process began in '07, in earnest.
Having known how far down the wrong road we'd been going, it was pretty tough to have that road just roll right over you, and realize how ineffective I'd been at trying to combat it.
I've learned how to rant better than I did that Dec. in '06. I've learned a lot. I've spent more money paying taxes for one year, than I used to earn in one year.
I pay a whole lot more attention now than I used to, & I was pretty good at paying attention and reading all I could get my hands on. Now, it's different.
Now it's a matter of life and death, not just partisan diatribe. Now I see the real reason for protecting the vision of our Founding Fathers. (Not that I didn't before, but when you get this close to national suicide, you see things more clearly now that your country is in more imminent danger than ever before, and that includes 2 world wars.)
My how times have changed.
Young people don't have a chance, now. They don't pay attention to what's going on, because that's what they were TAUGHT, in government indoctrination centers. They care about football, baseball, soccer, basketball,pro-wrestling, fast cars and motorized toys. They listen to the most un-godly head-banging screaming I've ever heard, with filth for lyrics, and call it music. And this is from me, who cut my teeth on Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hindrix, Janis Joplin and Rush. Ask them if they can name ONE Supreme Court justice on the bench today. DEER-IN-THE-HEADLIGHTS look. I do this on a regular basis with the guys that work for me.
As much as I bitch, and preach, about what's been going on in this country and the amount of destruction to our way of life being done deliberately, they get all concerned, for about 2 seconds.
And they take all that this country offers, that we, and our fathers, forefathers, on down to our Founding Fathers, have sacrificed blood, sweat and tears for, FOR GRANTED.
They don't have a freaking clue. They are dumber now than I was in 1971 protesting the Vietnam War, not knowing that we were trying to stop the advance of Communism into Southeast Asia. AMERICA was the bad guy!

APRIL 15, 2009; Standing on the courthouse steps of Gilmer County, looking out on the square, noon-time, with 5 other patriots, and seeing a whole crowd of people watching, waiting, I was nearly overcome with emotion, and began to speak after Dave Meadows introduced me. The square is a busy place, lots of traffic for a small mountain community, but the honking and hollerin' and carrying on was magnificent to behold.
I didn't have a real speech prepared, just some notes, mostly quotes from our Founding Fathers, to elaborate on, and talk about taxes & spending. And the words just came out, impassioned, speaking truth, and justice, and the American Way as God had bequeathed to us.
That was the start of the TEA Party of Gilmer County, Ga. (www.teapartyofgilmercounty.com).
I'm the Vice Chairman, but I'll tell ya, I don't do near as much as the other board members do. I still work a lot, thank God, for now. Most everyone else is retired, and has a whole lot more time to promote the cause for freedom & self-governance. I do what I can, which is mostly write on the web-site, attend meetings and communicate ideas & such with the others, and stay involved with other organizations, like American Grand Jury, the NRA (Life Member) & the RNC.
If you're wondering what my point is here, it is this: Our elder folks are doing the heavy lifting here, across this nation. I'm 53. Most all I see and hear from are the age of my parents. (Well, close to it, anyway.) Is this the last gasp, or a new breath of fresh air and energization?
There is an awakening in this country, and it's about time, & I pray it's not too late.
Our Constitution is the only true binding that holds this country together by the Rule of Law. It has been ignored and disrespected for decades, but now is being torn assunder and thrown into the trach as just so much parchment. WE are assaulted now, from within, as predicted by our Founding Fathers, and being warned against by actual Socialists themselves (Chavez, Castro, etc.)
I guess a legitimate question would be, WHO KEEPS ELECTING THESE ASSHOLES? We need to FIND THEM.
